about

It feels amazing to finally share this four year journey! Tetramer means ‘four things’ and this album is exactly that. Four suites (and of course four wonderful players), four concepts, four years (the first parts of this album were composed in 2019), four DAWs (Cubase, Ableton, Dorico, ProTools) and so forth. But what this album is really comprised of is an exploration into the intersection of our analog and digital worlds. The artwork, developed with Theo Robinson reflects that too, and in the coming weeks I will share some of the visualisations we made for each piece that explore this further.

For now, firstly, a HUGE thank you to the wonderful players who made this possible, Anna Csukly, Kirill Moses, Setareh Nafisi, and Gayla Sky, to Theo Robinson for as ever exploring artwork ideas with me. A huge and special thank you to Setareh for all of the incredibly valuable support and advice throughout this creation process.

Tell your friends. Tell your parents. Thank you for listening.

about

nicholas thayer Netherlands

Connection is at the centre of Nicholas’ music. Connecting people with places, with
stories, with themselves. The fundamental thread that draws together all of his work,
whether for soloists, for ensembles, for electronics, for installations, for film or for dance is
‘creating a meeting place, where together we can ask questions about what it is to be
human’.
